I still have a couple of problems. When the throttle stick is at minimum, the motors are still spinning. Is there someway to stop them? Also, should I setup the failsafe?

Just so you are educated on this, all the pid and rate values in suggesting for you are just that - suggestions. Others will give you different values. It doesn’t make make either ones right or wrong. These are all just things that change the way it flies to make it feel the way you like. :slight_smile: hope you’re in the air now with a decent feeling craft.

On the configuration tab, there is a motor stop option - select it. Failsafe is usually set default correctly, but you can make your own choice there on what it does on the failsafe tab. You can always turn your radio off while holding it to check it’s behavior

Don’t forget to try to figure out how to get your transmitter to stop linking channels together … you will want switches to be useful as you advance.

Yes the stick min and max should be reset to 1000 and 2000 to make sure you get full travel and as much resolution as possible.

I’ve been lurking on this one in case I could add anything as I have one of these. As usual the experts have “hatched” another quad baby! Kudos guys! You are a credit to the hobby!

@allenck Practice hovering first. That’ll get you use to the small stick movements required to keep it in the air. Once you get used to being able to keep it in one place I recommend learning to “yaw” 360 degrees in both directions. That will teach you to control the throttle and rudder at the same time. After that you are well on your way to flying line of sight. When you can do big coordinated turns in a circle without losing orientation you’re ready to throw some goggles on and the real fun begins! Don’t get discouraged! You’ll be ripping around in no time!

something has gone wrong as I can no longer arm the device. I’m wondering whether these values that we set the other day are still valid:

I ask because the receiver bars all seem to go from 1000 to 2000.

1000 to 2000 is the required range for the flight controller to operate properly. Your transmitter would only give you the limited range which is outlined above in the command we entered. That command told the flight controller to remap your limited range of command up to the full 1000 to 2000. If your bars are going 1000 to 2000 - that is a good thing and not the problem.

Go to the cli and type dump. It will spill all of its “code guts”. Copy and past it all here. Maybe there is something we can find in that.

Two questions first though

  1. Did you change anything in your radio or on cleanflight since it last worked?
  2. With radio on, plug into cleanflight go to receiver tab - make sure when you yaw right to arm that throttle is below 1025 and yaw is above 1975.
  3. Make sure you are turning your radio on first then plugging in your battery to fly.

The flight controller has to see a throttle value below mincheck and a yaw value above maxcheck to arm. Your values for those checkpoints were right at the limits of your stick travel. I’d be surprised if that doesn’t fix ya up.
